Dr. Duru Shah is an infertility specialist in private practice in Mumbai for the past 34 years. Her area of interest has always been Reproductive Endocrinology which has been the basis on which the current management of infertility and IVF has been based. Currently she runs training programs in infertility for the younger generation of gynecologists who are interested in infertility management. She has a Fellowship Course for infertility trained gynecologists who need training for IVF and Assisted Reproduction. Being an Infertility and ART specialist, Dr. Shah has lectured on the subject of Poor Ovarian Reserve, Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome, Surrogacy, Egg Donation, IVF, Embryo transfer techniques, Complications of IVF, Ethics of ART, Pregnancies after IVF etc. at various national and international conferences and has written numerous chapters for text books on the subject. Having a good grasp on this complicated subject, allows her a deep understanding of the problems which the couples face. Dealing with infertility involves a lot of emotional, financial and time investment for the couple, hence requires an infertility specialist who will identify the cause of their problem, so that there can be quicker and more efficient results.

She is currently the Senior Vice President of the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction and runs her own ART and infertility clinic at Gynaecworld –the Center for women's Health & Fertility in South Mumbai.

It is not enough to be an infertility specialist who works by herself. The Infertility Specialist needs a team of gynaec associates, embryologists, nurses, coordinators, nutritionists and sonologists, who can together bring success and happiness into a couple's life.

Being a patient listener Dr. Duru Shah is an infertility specialist who listens, examines, investigates and uses her scientific knowledge and art of practice, integrates them which leads to a successful outcome.
